NORTHWICH’S reigning British Sidecar Champion Pete Founds and his passenger Jevan Walmsley were back in action this weekend at Donington Park for Round 2 of the FSRA British Championship.

The lads missed round 1 as their new Honda powered bike wasn’t ready, but after an hour’s testing at Three Sisters in Wigan, it was straight into the real action.

Pete still getting used to the bike, he qualified a respectable 5th in very slippery conditions.

Race 1 started in the dry and after a good start, Pete and Jev made their way up to second and what looked to be the start if a great battle with his brother Alan Founds.

But after a couple of laps, things weren’t right and the lads had to retire.

Late into the early hours of Sunday the team swapped engines and got the bike ready for the morning warm up and race 2.

The lads managed to secure 5th in the race and bag their first points of the 2021 season. So it’s back to getting the engine sorted for Anglesey at the end of June.
