1874 NORTHWICH’S FA Cup run ended in agonising circumstances on Tuesday after they lost a penalty shoot-out against Ossett Town.
The teams could not be separated inside 90 minutes, nor did either of them find the net in extra time of a third qualifying round replay.
Lee Jackson’s sudden death spot-kick struck the crossbar, and the home team progressed after converting their next attempt.
Their reward is to travel to Solihull Moors in the fourth qualifying round on Saturday week.
More to follow.
