The Vics Column - By Pete Tonge

THIS week sees preparation for Saturday’s FA Cup Preliminary Round clash with Charnock Richard on Saturday in full swing.

Vics, of course reached this stage by a hard fought victory against Padiham in the previous round, a match won late on by a wonderful Ryan Winder goal after great work by Saul Henderson.

Charnock won 4 -1 away at Athersley Recreation, so Vics will need to be on top form to progress through to the next round.

Saturday’s match will of course have a 300 spectator limit at Wincham Park due to the current Covid-19 regulations so it is advisable to get your ticket before the match if you can.

They will be on sale down at Wincham Park on Wednesday evening between 6 and 8pm , and also down at first team training at the Grange playing fields between 6.30 and 8pm on Thursday evening.

Also, you can see Graham Egerton at Weaverham Hardware during the week who will have tickets available.

Prices are £7 adults, £5 concessions, £2 for 12 to 16 years olds, with under 12s free of charge.

We are anticipating that there will be few tickets which will still be available on the gate on Saturday, and these will strictly be on a first come, first served basis up to our limit of 300.

If you can’t get down to one of the ticket collection points, please contact Darren Barrow on twitter @darrenbarrow11 or by mobile on 07596 277443 who will be able to help you out. Keep a look out on our twitter and facebook pages to keep up to date with how sales are doing.

The other main news happening this past week has been the release of the League fixtures for the forthcoming season, and by a strange co-incidence our first match is away at our FA Cup opponents Charnock Richard on Saturday 3 October.

Our first home match, on Wednesday 7 October, should be a cracker as we play title favourites Warrington Rylands.

The big Christmas, New Year and Easter bank holidays sees us pit our wits home and away against 1874 Northwich and Congleton which should see big crowds for those games.

Season tickets are still available which give a discounted rate for all home League matches during the season and full details are on the website at www.northwichvictoriafc.com.
