WITTON Albion have signed forward James Hooper from National League side Altrincham.

The 23-year-old had a brief stint with the Wincham Park club last season, netting two goals in three appearances before the 2019-20 campaign was brought to a premature conclusion due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The attacker has Football League experience, having began his career with Rochdale before a short spell with Carlisle United.

Hooper has also represented FC United of Manchester, Stockport County, Radcliffe Borough, Salford City and Chorley.

He joins summer additions Isaac Baldwin, Scott Bakkor, Josh Gregory and Steven Tames as manager Carl Macauley strengthens his squad ahead of the 2020-21 Northern Premier League campaign, which is currently scheduled to get underway on Saturday, September 19.
