NORTHWICH Victoria have gone back to the future with their 2020/21 kit.

The new-look echoes back to the strip worn when Vics won the Drinkwise Cup in 1993 but with a modern twist.

And the design move has already proved a success on the business front for the greens as it fits in with the main shirt sponsor from the cup win against Wycombe Wanderers 27 years ago, Peter Morgan Contractors, coming back on board as a joint kit sponsor this time around.

It was lifelong Vics fan Morgan's decision to invest in the now fan-owned club that proved to be the catalyst for commercial manager Paul Bazley to revisit the classic design which had proved to be such a favourite with the fans.

Club chiefs believe this kit launch says Vics are looking to the future but never forgetting the past.

Peter Morgan Contractors feature on one of the sleeves, while on the front and back of the shirt are main sponsors Anderton Concrete and Hunters Gin.

The shirts also highlight how proud Vics are to show their support for worthy causes, with three of them making an appearance via their logos.

ProstateCancerUK is one of them, and in memory of legendary former Vics captain Kenny Jones passing away last year a set sum of every shirt sale will to the charity.

Another charity closely linked with Northwich Victoria is The Offside Trust, which was founded by former Vics player Steve Walters and their logo is on the back of the shirt to support their important work in safeguarding kids in sport.

Also featured is the logo of Tiny Steps, whose aim is to provide a sensory play area and social cafe for children and young people with additional needs, and their families, in the Cheshire West area. The co-founders are lifelong Vics supporters Scott Burstow and Martin Clifton.

Vics' shirt is available at £42 from Buccaneer Sports on Chester Way, Northwich, from the club's own shop on their website or order direct from Graham Egerton on Twitter @egertonjgraham or email at grahamjegerton@outlook.com.
