IT is business as usual for our football teams – for now.

Witton Albion, 1874 Northwich and Northwich Victoria all have matches scheduled for tomorrow night – Witton visit Atherton Collieries, 1874 host Burscough and Vics travel to Irlam.

However, as the coronavirus outbreak worsens, all eyes are on the Northern Premier League and the North West Counties Football League to see if games will be suspended.

All professional football in England is off until April 3 at the earliest and while the NPL and NWCFL allowed Saturday's games to go ahead, both leagues said the situation would be reviewed on Monday as matches still fell victim to Covid-19.

"It’s strange times for everybody in the country at the moment and we’re no different here," 1874 Northwich co-manager Wayne Goodison said.

"At the moment, we have a game on Tuesday and we’ll prepare for that.

"We’ll see what happens this week and if we have to have some time off, we’ll be ready for if and when we start again."

Vics boss Steve Wilkes added: "We’ll abide by the league.

"If they say things are suspended, then they’re suspended and we’ll train in a few weeks’ time and go again."
