WARRINGTON Wolves may have 'fallen in love with themselves' a little too much after beating St Helens said head coach Steve Price.

His Wolves side suffered the biggest defeat since he has been in charge at Leeds on Friday night, 36-0.

It comes just three weeks after beating defending Super League champions St Helens at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

And he says the team needs to get back to basics.

Price said: ""It was a performance we are not happy with.

"We got beaten in every department and in the basics of rugby league.

"I thought we started not too bad, Toby King was held up over the line and just couldn't get it down.

"But then the game was too fast for us, the ruck speed was too fast.

"I think we had five forced error and one forced error in the first half and completed 18 of 31 sets.

"You won't win any games doing that.

"Three weeks ago we produced a great performance against Saints.

"We have got a football team here. Maybe we fell in love with ourselves a little bit.

"I am confident we can turn it around.

"We have a group of men who care about the team and each other."

He denied there was a problem with away performances - despite the wait for a win on the road going on. Warrington have not won away since London in July.

"This is a different team from last year, different players. We don't look at that" he said.

"We have a responsibility to our town and our fans.

"That is a performance this club is not happy with.

"It is not good enough.

"We have a good football team and we have to get back to basics. We will find out how much we improve in the next seven days."
