A BUSY celebration week for Weaver Valley Cycling Club started when four club members attended the Manchester and District Time Trial Association Awards Lunch to be presented with their trophies.
Paul Longley won the 12 Hour Novice Saddle Trophy for his debut performance in the event.
Carol Robson won the Stevenson Memorial Trophy for setting the best 50-mile handicap time.
Sam Taylor won the Wagstaff Award for the Best First Year Rider and Emily Martin won the Keith Stacey Award for the Best All Rounder (BAR) for her combination 25, 50 and 100 mile times; and in addition she won the 100 mile time trial award.
Then the club held its annual dinner and awards night at Winnington Recreation Club.
The big winners on the night, Emily Martin and Sam Taylor, between them scooped 11 trophies, reflecting many achievements this season in time trialling and road racing.
Guest of honour was commentator and race organiser Carl Lawrenson, who entertained the members with an amusing talk about his many experiences in the bike racing world.
