1874 Northwich are safely through to the third round of the Cheshire Senior Cup.

They overcame lower-division Cheadle Heath Nomads 3-0 at Townfield.

Lee Knight netted twice, his 32nd-minute opener and 74th-minute concluding strike sandwiching a Callum Gardner effort that effectively settled matters in the 70th minute.

Knight also had the ball in the net before the deadlock was broken but Sam Hind was flagged offside before he crossed into the box.

Matt Woolley started the move that led to the first goal.

Nathan Okome collected his pass and fed Knight, who found the net via a deflection.

A 25-yard Woolley effort struck the inside of a post as 1874 came close again two minutes later.

Things got a little scrappy in the second half but Gardner made sure of 1874's progress when he wheeled away from his marker and curled a lovely shot into the corner.
