WITTON Albion made it five games without a win as they fell 2-0 at home to 10-man Buxton.
Carl Macauley’s side delivered one of their worst performances of the season so far, conceding both goals after Buxton’s Alex Byrne was sent off late in the first half when a second yellow card was shown following a challenge on Josh Wardle.
Tom Elliott broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 66th minute and Liam Hardy ensured the win for The Bucks as the final whistle loomed.

Both strikes came from counter attacks after Albion, with a positive double substitution that saw MJ Monaghan and Will Jones replace Cesaire Lingouba and Billy Smart at half time, failed to make the most of having the extra man.
The nearest they came to scoring was in the 65th minute when Danny Mitchley’s snap shot from James Short’s cross was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Grant Shenton.
It was from the resulting corner that The Bucks broke away to bag their first goal through Elliott, who placed the ball home from close range.
Shenton was alert to prevent shots from Tom Owens and Monaghan from finding the net before another quick break resulted in Hardy losing his marker and slotting home beneath Chris Renshaw.
The first half produced little to write home about until Byrne’s dismissal that proved not to be the turning point it probably should have been.
Macauley's men, who have now slipped to 11th in the Northern Premier League, next take to the field against third-from-bottom Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday.
