NORTHWICH driver Mark Wakefield got his hands on the silverware at the Volkswagen Racing Cup presentation event.
Not only did he receive the second place championship trophy but the drivers’ driver of the year prize too.
It caps a year in which Wakefield said he felt he had probably exceeded his own expectations.
A podium finish at Brands Hatch in his HSG Sport prepared Golf kept him in the running for the title until the final round at Donington Park.
