NORTHWICH natives Julie Rose and David Williams pooled their talent to reach a padel tennis final in Costa Blanca.
They were beaten 6-4, 5-7, 6-1 in the final of a three-day tournament, with Garry Clark and Laura Terry coming out on top after 2hrs 20mins on court in Cumbre Del Sol, near Javea.
Retired pair Julie, who lives in Calpe on and off but returns to Northwich regularly, and David, who now lives with his wife in Moraira, both play the sport a few times per week in different clubs and leagues but join together for tournaments.
Their next one will be in January.
"Padel tennis is a national sport in Spain and has a world tour that’s just been to the UK," said Julie.
"The LTA have introduced 75 new facilities in the UK for the sport with more planned for the future.
"I started playing just a year ago."
