WILL Jones scored a wonder goal from the halfway line as Witton Albion won 4-1 at Mickleover Sports.
He lobbed goalkeeper Nathan Brown just seconds after Billy Jones had beaten him with a header at the far post.
It left Witton three goals to the good at half time, with James Short having put them ahead in the fourth minute.
Mason Warren pulled a goal back for the hosts two minutes into the second half but it was as close as Sports got to Carl Macauley’s side before Danny McKenna wrapped up the scoring in the 88th minute.
It clinched for Witton a first away win of the season in the BetVictor Northern Premier.
Four goals is also a first for the campaign.
The victory means Albion move up the ladder five places to sixth in a tight middle order that sees only four points separate fifth-placed FC United of Manchester with 15th-placed Scarborough Athletic.
