JOE Duckworth has returned to 1874 Northwich from Winsford United.

The teenage frontman says he is ready for the new challenge.

Duckworth, the younger brother of Winsford manager Lee, has made four appearances off the bench and made one start in the North West Counties Football League this season.

His last outing with the Blues first team was as a substitute in the 4-1 win against Padiham on Monday, October 7.

Duckworth has also represented Barnton under 21s this season.

He came off the bench and scored to earn United a share of the spoils against 1874 in the Boxing Day derby last year.

Duckworth Tweeted: "Just want to say a big thank you to everybody at Winsford United for the last couple of seasons.

"Top club with great people who are definitely taking the club the right way.

"Now time for a new challenge."

Duckworth, who played some of his youth football with 1874, is a hard worker with a good football brain.

He joins 1874 ahead of tomorrow's trip to Cheadle Heath Nomads in the Macron Challenge Cup first round, kick-off 2pm
