NORTHWICH Victoria’s FA Cup adventure is over.
They succumbed to BetVictor Northern Premier Division outfit Lancaster City in their first qualifying round replay at Wincham Park last night despite forcing a grandstand finish.
Kieron Kenny’s injury-time goal reduced the visitors’ lead to one goal and raise hopes of forcing extra time, but the Dolly Blues held on for a 2-1 victory.
Veteran midfielder David Norris scored twice for Lancaster as they made it through at the second time of asking following Saturday’s goalless draw at the Giant Axe.
Vics now have the weekend off, with their return to league action coming on Saturday, September 21, with a home game against Burscough.
