CASTLE made sure the De-Knoop Cup will not be staying in Chorlton for another year after recording a brilliant victory against their Lloyd Hotel counterparts.
The Northwich club returned eight winning cards during a 196-151 success at Parkhorse Bowling Club in Macclesfield, securing for themselves a place in the final.
Triumphs for Mike Hamman, Nick Hamman and Carl Treasure put the Mid-Cheshire Bowling Association in front by 15 chalks after four blocks.
They never looked likely to be caught, particularly after Phil Scott and Willie Andrews made it to 21 in the next two head-to-heads.
Katie Harrop, Ellen Winnington and John Gurney were their other victors.
There will be no derby date in the final though after Owley Wood succumbed to Nursery by 39 chalks on aggregate.
The Weaverham outfit had four winners – Rob Williams, Paul Reid, Rob Wilton and James Davies – but two defeats to single figures proved their undoing at Macclesfield.
A knockout competition organised by the Cheshire County Bowling Association for club’s second teams reaches a conclusion on August 3.
