OULTON Park had reason to celebrate when they ended a wait for a first Premier Division victory of the campaign.
Their comprehensive eight-wicket success at Grappenhall propels them above their opponents and out of the table’s relegation zone before leaders Chester Boughton Hall arrive on Saturday.
A collective effort in the field saw them dismiss their hosts for 106 after Tom Hyslop (4-34) and Andrew Dufty (3-23) combined to do most of the damage.
Mark Latham held on to two catches and was also responsible for a run-out.
Captain Martyn East (64no) and Nick Ward (34) shared in a partnership for the second wicket worth 89 runs to take the Little Budworth outfit to the brink of a win at the 10th time of asking.
A win by 54 runs for Davenham at home to Macclesfield was their first in the Cheshire County League in more than a month.
They put 169 on the board at Butcher’s Stile after being put in, the highlight a partnership worth 45 between Sam Robbins (44) and Adam Garrod (13) for the fourth wicket.
Sam Hunt (25) and Ben Gough (26) chipped in too.
A stunning spell from Dean Jackson, who took 4-26 from a dozen overs that included six maidens, was instrumental in orchestrating a collapse to 115 all out.
Gough (3-35) and Danny Hancock (2-10) provided support.
Northwich could not make the most of an opportunity they created for themselves to beat table-topping Lindow in Division Two.
They knocked over the visitors to Moss Farm for 108, Glinoj Cherian (6-37) showing the way while Jordan McDonough (2-16) and Justine Joseph (2-36) played supporting roles.
The visitors had been 66-1 before the remaining nine wickets fell for 42 runs.
Glinoj (21) and Zeyol Jayasana took Northwich to 30-1 before their reply too collapsed, precipitated by Rana Rauf (4-27), and they succumbed for 71.
They remain without a victory in all competitions during 2019.
