WILL Jones is the latest player to accept an offer from manager Carl Macauley to remain a Witton Albion player.

The striker, who passed 100 appearances for the club and scored several decisive goals this season, follows captain Rob Hopley and Greg Hall – voted by supporters as their player of the year – in agreeing terms for next term.

It represents an encouraging start to a busy summer for Macauley, who only concluded negotiations on his own future shortly before Witton’s final Northern Premier League fixture of the campaign.

Jones received an award at Albion’s prize night for strike of the season – a spectacular instinctive volley during a 2-2 draw with Basford at Wincham Park.

And the 29-year-old is an attacker Macauley has relied on since arriving from Colwyn Bay in February 2017 and he played a part during a successful bid to be promoted via the play-offs two months later.
