LYNSEY Astles, a newcomer for the distance, demonstrated her improvement when she posted a personal best at Withington Wheelers’ 25.
The Weaver Valley Cycling Club rider completed a course close to Goostrey in 1:08.18 to rank as the second fastest female novice in the field.
Clubmate Dave Walker stopped the clock in 55:32 to rank ninth overall in a field of more than 100 entries, while Alistair Stanway also dipped under an hour in 58:19.
Colin Latter was another to go faster than he has in the past after reaching the finish in 1:06.49 - three minutes better than his previous milestone.
Alexander Royle (Manchester BC) took first prize in 52:01 ahead of teammate Joseph Dobson.
Weaver Valley’s Steve Haskew travelled to Preston for the third Lewis Balyckyi Glasdon Criterium of a new season.
He managed to stay with the bunch despite a series of attacks by rivals on a course at the University of Central Lancashire, crossing the line in 22nd place.
George Ball (Cycling Performance Squad) claimed victory.
