1874 NORTHWICH reserved a place in the North West Counties League’s Challenge Cup final for the first time when they beat Congleton Town last weekend.
Their reward is to take on Premier Division rivals City of Liverpool, conquerors of lower-ranked Avro in the other last-four tie, on Saturday, May 4.
The game will kick-off at an earlier time of 1pm.

League officials announced last month a change of venue, to Altrincham’s J.Davidson Stadium, after hosting their showpiece event at Fleetwood Town for the past three seasons.
They have scrapped a midweek date for the game too.
“The management committee listened to feedback on previous finals about playing it on a Saturday rather than midweek as we have traditionally done,” said chairman Paul Lawler.
“We spoke with a number of clubs but the more we talked to Grahame Rowley, Altrincham’s chairman, about an excellent facility at the centre of our geographical region it become apparent to us it would be an ideal location.”
Details of admission are expected shortly now that the semi-finals stage is complete.
