City of Manchester 11-4 Winnington Park

PAUL Stackhouse filled in between the posts to help resolve a goalkeeper crisis but he could not prevent Winnington Park from suffering a heavy defeat.

His saves prevented a wider gap between the teams on the scoreboard as the Northwich outfit, already assured of their place in the North West Men’s League’s top-flight next season, finished 10th in Division One.

Winnington Park 2nd 0-0 Oxton 3rd

WINNINGTON Park’s seconds could not make the most of their territorial domination during a goalless stalemate with visiting Oxton’s thirds.

They had six short corners in the first-half, but failed to break through, and continued to apply pressure during the second period too without the reward of a decisive goal.

Deeside Ramblers 7th 0-10 Winnington Park 3rd

JOHN Crouchley and Tom Yates both scored a hat-trick as Winnington Park’s thirds finished the season with an emphatic victory.

Their reward is to be promoted from Division Seven South West as runners-up to champions University of Chester.

A swift start last weekend saw them find the net three times in quick succession during the early exchanges.

They went on to cruise through the second-half on an afternoon when Ian Turley, Tom Ravenscroft, Mark Risk and Jonny McKeown were also on target for the visitors.

Winnington Park 4th 2-4 Deeside Ramblers 6th

STUART Entwistle played in goal for the first time when Winnington's fourths lost to Deeside’s sixths in their final fixture.

He helped to keep the scores level before Liam McKee put the home team in front.

Deeside responded to lead 3-1 by the break before Rob Bowden, on his return after an injury, reduced Park’s arrears following a spell of sustained possession.

However the visitors secured maximum points when they scored again before the finish.
