WITTON Albion have had six points deducted from their total after a rival went out of business.

The Northern Premier League announced at the weekend that North Ferriby United’s results this season would be wiped from the records after the club was wound up over an unpaid debt.

Carl Macauley’s men had completed a double over the Villagers, including a narrow 1-0 win at Wincham Park last month, and slip to 10th place in the Premier Division table.

Albion also prevailed 4-0 in the return game back in September.

The goals scored during those games are removed from individual players' tallies, and their appearance statistics have been adjusted too.

“We had to wait for formal notification of the liquidation before we could confirm our position,” read a league statement.

North Ferriby had occupied the bottom position in the standings after registering only two victories in the 33 matches they completed.

All but four of the others ended in defeat.

Officials updated member clubs during a meeting for chairmen on Sunday.

They confirmed that two teams, who finish 20th and 21st, will be relegated at the end of the campaign.

Mickleover Sports and Workington, both of them opponents for Witton next month, respectively occupy those positions.
