HARVEY Whyte’s goal in the second-half ensured Northwich Victoria will start the second leg of an FA Vase semi-final on level terms with Chertsey Town.
The midfielder fired high past goalkeeper Nick Jupp after racing onto Ryan Winder’s glorious pass to cancel out Dave Taylor’s effort before the break for the Curfews.
He steered Lubo Guentchev’s low cross over the line after Jake Baxter’s initial attempt struck a post.
Vics showed more attacking intent after the interval when they had a strong wind behind them and Whyte’s strike ends a run of five successive shut-outs by Chertsey in the competition.
Who stood out for you in Northwich Victoria's colours?
