WITTON Albion have boosted numbers in a depleted squad after signing two players on Friday.

Jack Egan, a wide player, and midfielder Lewis Doyle will both be considered for selection by manager Carl Macauley for tomorrow’s Northern Premier League Premier Division encounter with Basford United.

Their arrival is timely given the manager could name only one substitute for a meeting with Stafford on Tuesday.

Egan, 20, was released by Carlisle United last month after extending an agreement with the League Two club in December.

He was in his second season as a professional there.

Meanwhile Albion have borrowed Doyle, a teenager, from National League North outfit Southport.

He signed a contract with Yellows last summer and appeared as a substitute during a Liverpool County FA Cup victory against Marine in January.

Like Luke Offord, who is on loan at Witton from Crewe Alexandra, he will stay at Wincham Park until the end of the season.
