Golborne Ladies 0-4 Winnington Park Ladies
WINNINGTON Park’s impressive run of results on the road continued when they saw off Golborne to boost their promotion hopes.
The Northwich side have won more matches away from home than any rival in the Cheshire Women’s League’s top-flight and are unbeaten out of town since the season’s opening day.
Jaz Barlow’s goal put them in front before Leona Wylie was first to a rebound off the home team’s net-minder to make it 2-0.
Jacs Gape’s second-half double, both strikes sent with power into the bottom corner from the top of the D, put Park out of their hosts’ reach.
Winnington Park Ladies 2nd 0-4 Oswestry Ladies
THE home team’s performance was more convincing than the result suggests on an afternoon when newcomers Emily Barrow and Hayley James both made their debut.
Winnington trailed 3-0 by the break, a margin on the scoreboard that would have been wider had goalkeeper Sofi Waterer not been at her best.
They battled hard until the finish against strong opponents despite a number of players covering absent colleagues in unfamiliar roles.
