Alderley Edge Ladies 3rd 2-6 Winnington Park Ladies

WINNINGTON Park put behind them a narrow defeat the previous week to get their push for promotion back on track.

They were made to work for their victory though by opponents with whom they shared four goals in the first half with Helen Fowler and Chris Davies, from a short corner, on target for the Northwich side.

Both of those players doubled their personal tallies after the interval when further goals from Liv Moynihan and Jaz Barlow left Park out of their hosts’ reach.

They sit third in the Cheshire Women’s League’s Division One table.

Winnington Park Ladies 2nd 2-8 Whitchurch Ladies

VISITORS who arrived in Northwich occupying top spot in the table showed no mercy to their depleted hosts.

Whitchurch’s finishing was clinical but Park’s assessment was positive after determined display.

An injury to Beth Preston ended early her afternoon and Caitlin Wylie changed position to deputise in an unfamiliar role.

Emily Barrow showed promise too on her debut.

The home team were rewarded in the second-half with two goals; Eileen Miller found the net with a solo effort before Vicky Curran applied the finishing touch to s short-corner routine.

Miller also sent another shot against an upright, while an attempt from Izzy Warrener went close.
