NORTHWICH Centurions added another medal to their tally at the Cheshire County and Age Group Championships at Macclesfield on Saturday.

Kyle Hawkins took silver in the under 15s boys’ 200m breaststroke after timing 2:41.36, missing out on gold by just sixth hundredths of a second.

He returned to the water in the afternoon and ranked fourth in the final over 100m for the same stroke.

Madeline Pratt stood on the podium pool-side seven days earlier after classifying third in the under 16s girls’ 200m freestyle.

Meanwhile Eleanor Ma continued a busy and consistent showing by finishing fifth in the under 13s girls’ 100m breaststroke final.

She occupied the same position on the time-sheet following the 800m freestyle for the same age-group category and was eighth overall in the 200m breaststroke.

A total of 11 other Centurions were in action last weekend too.

As a team they occupy 16th position in the Hugh Laughland Age Group Aggregate Trophy for under 16s but are within reach of a number of teams ahead of them.

Racing resumes on Saturday, and includes relay events in the afternoon.

This year’s championships conclude the following afternoon.
