Winnington Park 2nd 6-3 Bowdon 4th

JAMES Egerton’s hat-trick was a highlight of Winnington Park seconds’ comfortable victory against Bowdon’s fourths.

He scored two of those before the break, while Matt Howard added a third goal, as the Northwich side took control.

Jack Millington added to their advantage shortly after the interval before the visitors converted from a short-corner.

John Stackhouse made it 5-1 from a short-corner at the other end before Bowdon reduced their arrears with two goals from rehearsed set-piece routines.

It was fitting that Egerton reached a treble with the game’s final strike.

University of Chester 2-2 Winnington Park 3rd

WINNINGTON Park’s thirds fought back from two goals down to bring back a share of the spoils from a visit to the University of Chester.

Tom Ravenscroft cleared off the line to keep out the students before the visitors conceded a goal from the final action of the opening period.

Their home team moved further in front when they made Park pay for not having enough defenders back for a free-hit.

However Winnington rallied and Matt Entwistle converted from a short-corner before Ryan Crouchley levelled at the end of a routine practised before the game.

Winnington Park 4th 1-0 Warrington 2nd

LIAM McKee applied the finishing touch to a flowing team move to secure maximum points for Winnington Park’s fourths from their meeting with Warrington seconds.

The visitors to Sir John Deane’s College cursed their luck though after an attempt at goal struck both posts before the ball was cleared.

Warrington pushed hard for an equaliser as a young Park side gradually tired but they held firm.

Nathan Cosford’s work linking midfield to attack earned for him the player-of the-match prize.
