JOE Buckley is one race away from securing an unprecedented cross-country double.

With the under 17s Cheshire title already in the bag, the Warrington Athletics Club youngster is in a good position to secure the Manchester Area Cross Country League crown.

Having won convincingly in the fourth round of the league at Heaton Park on Saturday, he is level on points with Trafford’s Cynog Williams with one race remaining.

Buckley finished in exactly 21 minutes, with clubmates Isaaq Ataullah and Joe Roberts finishing 11th and 13th respectively to ensure the trio finished second in the team event.
