Macclesfield Ladies 1-2 Winnington Park Ladies
JAZ Barlow’s double made the difference for Winnington Park when they got the better of a direct rival for promotion.
She opened the scoring with a brilliant finish, angled into the corner, to establish an interval lead.
Macc responded early in the second-half during a spell that included a string of impressive saves from Winnington goalkeeper Helen Hogben.
The Northwich side, beaten now in only one of their past nine Cheshire Women’s League top-flight matches, moved further in front when Barlow netted again.
Macc halved their lead with time running out but Park held on.
Winnington Park Ladies 2nd 0-4 Wilmslow Ladies 3rd
WINNINGTON Park’s seconds experimented with their line-up for a meeting with promotion-hopefuls Wilmslow in Hartford.
They disputed the visitors’ opening goal after they felt the ball had entered the net of an attacker’s boot.
Park toiled to find a way through an organised defence for the remainder, falling to a fourth home defeat of the campaign after their guests added three goals to their tally.
