Moore 36 Lymm Eagles 26
THOSE who defied Saturday’s cold, blustery conditions at Moss Lane were treated to a cross-town classic between these two neighbours.
In the end, it was Moore who stormed back to stretch their winning run to six games and go into the Christmas break in style.
After Jack Harvey’s early try for the hosts, Lymm scored 19 unanswered points to establish a good lead at half time.
However, Joe Pidgeon then crossed for his 20th try of the campaign before fly-half Matt Bradshaw crossed to level the scores at 19-19.
The Black and Golds then went ahead through Tony Fretwell, before a brace of Henry Frankling tries put the home side in full control.
Lymm did get the game’s final try with five minutes remaining, but it proved too little, too late.
