MIDDLEWICH Town played out a draw with leaders Altrincham reserves in the Cheshire League Premier Division’s plum fixture on Saturday.

The Witches led 2-0 inside 10 minutes thanks to Nath Devaney’s brace before their opponents halved a deficit before the break.

Alty drew level in the moments after half-time before Jamie Petrie restored the visitors’ lead with an angled shot after Jack Weedall switched play impressively.

Town’s hopes took hit when substitute Callum Parkinson was sent off shortly after his introduction and made the most of their advantage to secure a share of the spoils.

Lostock Gralam rise to second in League One after they recovered from falling behind against Garswood United at Park Stadium.

Chris Francis put the visitors in front before Jack Woolley was first to a loose ball after James Dean’s penalty had been saved to restore parity.

He was denied a second when the referee judged he had strayed offside.

However Woolley did score a decisive goal in the second-half when he steered in Myles Wady’s cross, extending the Grey Lambs’ unbeaten run to 13 matches.

Cuddington’s date with Ashton Town’s reserves in League Two was postponed, while Winnington Avenue 1994 did not have a game.

Keelan Darlington’s goal for Middlewich Town’s second string wasn’t enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat at home to their Poynton counterparts in the Reserves Division.

Ste Hughes’ hat-trick sent Winsford Saxons to the Crewe and District League’s summit following a 6-2 derby success against Over 3 Grange at Knights Grange.

Dean Mundy scored too, as did substitutes Floyd Carlin and Callum Lovell, while Joe Standish and Darren Fox netted replies.

Stephen Harris claimed a consolation for Winnington Avenue during a 9-1 defeat at Tarporley Victoria.
