Prescot 5-2 Winnington Park
WINNINGTON Park remain rooted to the bottom of the North West Men’s League’s top-flight following a sixth successive defeat.
Pete Evans converted following a rehearsed short-corner routine to put them in front at Prescot before their hosts recovered to establish an interval lead.
The home team improved afterwards, scoring three more times before Paul Stackhouse tucked a penalty-stroke into the corner to notch a consolation.
Winnnington Park 2nd 0-4 Triton 2nd
THE Northwich club’s second team has suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season after they shipped four goals against their Triton counterparts.
They trailed 2-0 before the visitors’ goalkeeper produced his best to keep out an effort from Tom Howard.
Winnington were on the front-foot after the interval but could not find a way through and instead conceded twice at the other end.
Warrington 2nd 0-3 Winnington Park 3rd
WINNINGTON Park’s thirds were efficient from set-pieces during a comfortable victory away to Warrington seconds.
Ciaran McDonnell deflected in a first goal before Ian Turley’s straight hit caught out the home team’s goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Ian Sutton got in on the action to complete the scoring on an afternoon when Wolfstan Doel was chosen as Park’s best performer.
Winnington Park 4th 0-4 University of Chester
THERE is some regret for a developing Park side that they didn’t make the most of one of the opportunities they created before falling behind.
Instead Chester led 2-0 by the break, although they were forced back by Winnington during the early stages of the second-half.
The visitors to Sir John Deane’s College resisted Park’s pressure though, and added to their tally before the final whistle.
Angus Paddison was chosen as the home team’s man-of-the-match.
