Why should I watch..?

To see if Northwich Victoria can complete a productive seven days by recording a third successive win in the North West Counties League’s top-flight.

A 2-1 victory against Litherland REMYCA in midweek was hard-fought, and Andrew Fitzgerald’s decisive goal arrived late.

However it adds to a feel-good factor around a side that has now won four of their past five matches – and nine of its past 12 – in all competitions.

They will be hopeful of improving an indifferent record on their travels to date this season when they take on out-of-sorts hosts that have lost three successive Premier Division games.

Charnock Richard have conceded 11 goals in that sequence too.

What they’ve said

“It’s a concern for me that we’re picking up injuries at the moment.

“With that in mind a special mention must go to 18-year-old Olly Muir who only signed for us on the morning of Wednesday’s game.

“He hadn’t met any of lads and played out of position at left-back.

“However he stuck to his task and grew into the game.”

Steve Wilkes, Northwich Victoria manager

A man in form

Joel Brownhill

The attacker’s goal early in the second-half against Litherland in midweek was his 12th of a productive debut campaign with Vics following a transfer from Ashton Athletic in the summer.

He turned provider for the home team’s winner, arcing a free-kick onto Andrew Fitzgerald’s head inside the six-yard box.

That followed him providing an assist for three of his side’s goals during a 5-1 hammering of Runcorn the previous weekend.

Vics team news

Joe Camozzi (hamstring) has added his name to a list of injury absentees that includes Rob Doran, Kieran Kenny (both back) and Matty Clarke (knee).

Fortunately loan duo Jordan Darr and Olly Muir have arrived this week to bolster a squad looking short on numbers.
