Why should I watch..?
To see if 1874 Northwich can remain unbeaten against Hanley and at the same time continue an upward trajectory in the North West Counties League’s top-flight.
A 2-0 win at Charnock Richard on Saturday means they have lost only one of their past eight Premier Division matches and a victory will propel them inside the top 10.
In-form Scott McGowan travels down the M6 buoyed by climbing to the top of the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart, surpassing Michael Brandon.
Hanley are struggling and a narrow 2-1 reverse at Silsden last weekend was an eighth in their past nine games in all competitions.
However they have collected all but four of their points this season in front of their own supporters.
What they’ve said
“There aren’t many managers who will tell you they like these back-to-back games, and we’re no different.
“Hanley have had a difficult start to the season but they remain a testing opponent to beat at their place – that much won’t change.
“But we go there in good form and with confidence after our recent results.”
Wayne Goodison, 1874 Northwich co-manager

Man to keep an eye on…
Lucas Weir

The teenager shown encouraging signs during his previous appearances this season.
1874 team news
Jack Irlam is working away and so is unavailable with Lucas Weir a contender to take his place in midfield.
Management duo Paul Bowyer and Wayne Goodison are hopeful that Matty Russell will have recovered from illness but goalkeeper James Coates (back) remains doubtful.
Dane Rigby will continue to deputise if he doesn’t make it.
Aaron Burgess (ankle) is definitely ruled out by injury along with long-term absentees Sam Freakes, Ryan Jackson, Joe Woolley (all knee) and Kyle Riley (hand).
