WITTON Albion have borrowed Liam Goulding from former Northern Premier League rivals Altrincham for an initial month-long loan spell.

The 22-year-old, who can play in midfield or defence, returns to Wincham Park after impressing during a temporary stay in the 2014-2015 season while still on Accrington Stanley’s books.

He transferred from Warrington Town to the Robins in the summer following an outstanding campaign with Yellows.

However he has been restricted to only four starts to date with Phil Parkinson’s side in National League North.

Goulding, who is available for selection when Witton host Lancaster City tomorrow afternoon, made 19 appearances while Tony Sullivan was in charge at the Northwich club.

He scored three goals, including a stoppage-time winner during Albion’s first meeting with 1874 Northwich in a thrilling Mid-Cheshire District FA Senior Cup semi-final.
