A FORMER fans’ favourite returned to Northwich Victoria last week receive a donation from supporters.
Steve Walters, a director of the Offside Trust, was a guest of the club for their FA Vase encounter with Cammell Laird at Wincham Park.
He was presented with a cheque for £900 by Kenny Jones, captain when Vics won the FA Trophy and a veteran of more than 900 appearances for the club – money collected after a series of fundraising initiatives including a sponsored walk up Snowdon earlier this year.
Huge thanks to everyone @NorthwichVicsFC for the kind cheque that will help us to support survivors and continue our work in safeguarding kids in sport. You are an exemplary club 💚#NonLeagueDay pic.twitter.com/jcixhYa9Ri

The Offside Trust describes itself as an organisation committed to supporting survivors of child abuse while working to make sport safer for young children.
Walters, an ex-Crewe Alexandra midfielder, was among the first to speak out about former coach Barry Bennell – a serial paedophile who was jailed in February for abusing boys – and is one of the trust’s founders.
The 46-year-old’s name is familiar to football followers in the town following a five-year spell with Vics, who he joined in 1995.
The club have backed the Offside Trust since establishing a partnership before the start of last season, and their first-team players are among those to wear shirts with a green and white logo.
