NORTHWICH Sapphires went unrewarded for a stunning recovery during the final quarter of their latest North West Championship League encounter.
They outscored their hosts, Leyland Excel, during the closing stages of a narrow 46-41 reverse in a Division One fixture.
Libby Ahovi was picked as the visitors’ best player as they continue to adjust to a higher level following their promotion at the end of last season.
Meanwhile a second Sapphires side, stepping up to the regional competition this season, ran out 50-48 victors away to Denton to maintain an unblemished start in Division Two.
