WITTON Albion’s players have been given more time to get ready for an FA Cup tie against Solihull Moors after their next game was postponed.
Carl Macauley’s men were due to travel to Basford United on Monday night but a request to Northern Premier League officials for that fixture to be rearranged was granted today.
A new date will be arranged later.
Meanwhile fixtures involving Kidsgrove Athletic, Marine and Warrington Town scheduled for Tuesday have also been scrapped after they asked for the same consideration.
The Northwich club is attempting to end a wait to reach the competition's first round proper - which started following a defeat against Telford United back in 1996 - when they host National League opposition on Saturday.
The Moors put behind them a 2-0 defeat at Barnet last time out when they edged out visitors Ebbsleet United yesterday thanks to Luke Maxwell’s winner with seven minutes left.
