WRECKERS were made to work, and for a long time too, before celebrating their latest victory during qualifying for this season’s Mid Cheshire Super League.
They shared the first four sets during a four-hour meeting with Manweb before taking the next five.
However that sequence was ended when Alf Perry inflicted a first defeat of the evening on Charlie Ostapski.
Tigers, victors at Raptors, are the only other unbeaten team in Group One.
Victoria whitewashed Bears, who were denied a point when Brian McGee completed a comeback to edge out Paul Curley in a decider.
Sticklebacks took top spot in Group Two as a reward for their 7-3 victory at Valiants.
Lab Rats shared the spoils with Hawks following a close encounter that featured new recruit Mike Jestin recording three singles wins for the latter.
Elsewhere Mark Hayes and Richard Betts both recorded their first wins of the campaign to help Werewolves see off Romans.
