Match of the day

Witton Albion v Spennymoor Town (ko 3pm)

Carl Macauley's men are the only remaining side from mid Cheshire still in the FA Cup this season following the exits of 1874 Northwich, Northwich Victoria and Winsford United.

They progressed to the second qualifying round by brushing aside Bottesford Town earlier this month, but can expect a much more difficult examination when National League North side Spennymoor Town arrive in town.

The Moors side fifth in the table after winning four of their past five matches, but they will be greeted by hosts who are unbeaten on home turf this term.

There is an added incentive of a £9,000 cash prize for the victors.

It's an important afternoon for...

Winsford United (v Silsden, ko 3pm)

Blues delivered their most impressive performance of the campaign last weekend when they dispatched Worksop from the FA Vase following a 5-0 victory.

However Lee Duckworth's side have failed in seven previous attempts to collect maximum points from a North West Counties League fixture this season.

They have met Silsden already, losing 4-2 last month, but felt hard done by after a controversial decision to send off Danny Kerr.

A confidence boost from last weekend's success could make the difference.

And what about...

Lostock Gralam (v Halebank, ko 3pm)

The Grey Lambs are in fine form, and extended an unbeaten run in all competitions to seven matches when they put five goals past Moore United last weekend.

James Dean has scored a hat-trick in each of their past two games, and he will be keen to add to his personal tally when Halebank visit Park Stadium.

The rivals played out a 2-2 draw in the return last month when the Hatton brothers - Charlie and Robbie - were on target for the Northwich side.
