Why should I watch..?

To see if either side can follow up victories in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Stafford avoided an upset when they edged out Grimsby Borough, while Witton were more comfortable dispatching Bottesford Town.

Albion have failed to score in their past two Northern Premier League games, although they did put five goals past their opponents last weekend.

Among their scorers was Will Jones, who is now off the mark for the season.

Stafford, with former Northwich Victoria manager Steve Burr now at the helm, are in buoyant mood though after prevailing in a derby meeting with neighbours Hednesford last Tuesday.

What they’ve said

“We’ve fond memories of an excellent performance at Stafford at a similar stage of last season, but they’re a completely different proposition now.

“I know Steve [Burr] well, and how he likes his team to play, and they’ve had their confidence boosted too by winning their past three games.

“We can expect a difficult game.”

Carl Macauley, Witton Albion manager

Witton team news

Full-back Anthony Gardner (ankle) is ruled out by an injury he sustained during the second-half of Saturday’s 5-0 win against Bottesford Town in the FA Cup.

Delial Brewster (groin) is rated as doubtful by manager Carl Macauley, who will have River Humphreys available again.

Meanwhile Albion continue to wait on the Welsh FA for clearance to complete the transfer of Will Booth from Colwyn Bay.

It’s an important evening for…

Michael Wilson

Made his first start of the season on Saturday, and helped Witton to shut out Bottesford Town as they progressed in the FA Cup.

And he scored Albion’s opening goal too.

If Carl Macauley keeps faith with him, then the 23-year-old defender will want to put in another impressive performance.
