HOLLY Weedall claimed a bronze medal last Saturday on her return to the national stage.
The Vale Royal Athletics Club star was third in the under 15s girls’ 1,500m final during the England Track and Field Championships at Bedford.
She ripped through the first lap in 65 seconds.
The Weaverham High School student, along with Samia Jones (Menai), continued to push on through the next two circuits in 2:20 and the duo hit the bell clear of their rivals.
However they were caught in a dash for the line by fast-finishing Katie Johnson (Edinburgh) who got her hands on first prize in a lifetime best of 4:33.41.
Weedall crossed the line in 4:36.04 behind Jones.
It concludes a stunning track season for the youngster, who claimed club and schools' county titles over 1,500m for her age-group category before claiming a gold medal at the regional track and field championships.
She took bronze too at the English schools' championships at Birmingham, where she raced against older girls, after celebrating a victory while in Cheshire's colours at the Mason Trophy Inter Counties Schools' Championships the previous month.
