NORTHWICH, seeking to recapture a Cheshire Shield title they won in 2016, were gifted a bye to the semi-finals last weekend after Stockport Trinity conceded.
They had been due to host the Cheshire League second division side at Moss Farm on Sunday, only for their opponents to pull out.
James Plant’s men will now travel to lower-ranked Hale Barns, conquerors of Cheadle Hulme by six wickets in a high-scoring encounter, in the last four later this month.
Romiley lost by three wickets at home to Stockport Georgians in the other quarter-finals tie played last weekend.
