WHARTON Cons A, the holders, take on a side that eliminated their clubmates when the Littler Cup resumes on Sunday.

Helsby, who will have a 60-chalks handicap head-start at Davenham, sent Wharton Cons B crashing out in the second round.

However they have lost both league games away from their green to date this season.

Castle C, the lowest-ranked side left in the competition, have top-flight outfit Rudheath A in their sights at Winnington Rec.

A 115-point handicap advantage gives the Section Four pacesetters hope that they can cause an upset.

Elsewhere two teams from Section Three, Norley and Owley Wood C, will attempt to surprise Premier Division duo Middlewich Community Church and Alsager respectively.

The Weaverham outfit have an unblemished record in the league, and have knocked out Davenham B and Owley Wood B already to reach the last 16 of the competition's 100th edition.

Comberbach A, yet to register a victory in the Mid-Cheshire Bowling Association, will be optimistic of kick-starting their campaign by eliminating Section Two side Tarporley A at Cuddington.

Meanwhile Castle A and Lostock Graylams both have a bye to the quarter-finals later this month.

All games start at 2pm.
