OAKMERE sent out a message to rivals hoping to challenge for their Cheshire Women’s League crown with an emphatic victory on the season’s opening day.
They were dismissed for 111 by Didsbury after losing the toss at Overdale Lane, where Shami Ahmed (45) and Dawn Prestidge (28) were the pick of their performers at the crease.
However an outstanding performance with the ball saw the visitors knocked over for 28 in reply.
Sarah Worsdale (3-5) and Leah Holland (3-6) claimed three wickets each, while Emma Tarpey (2-2) weighed in too.
Oakmere host Stockport Georgians, who recorded a win in their first outing over 40 overs against Oxton last Sunday, this weekend.
Play starts at 1.30pm.
