BARNTON FC are planning for the departure of chairman Tim Burton.

Villagers’ boss Burton will be stepping down from the chairman’s role at the end of this campaign.

He will have been in charge for close to two years at the season’s end.

“Tim joined us in the summer of 2016 and steered the club through many challenges in his time,” it says in a club statement.

He is praised from within the club for his commitment, hard work and securing strong links and relationships with the parish council and schools, along with fellow North West Counties Football League clubs.

“Tim was also pivotal in piecing together the ground-share agreement with our tenants Northwich Victoria,” continues the statement.

“Moving forward, we are already finalising a structure that will be implemented on Tim’s departure.”
