NORTHWICH Sapphires recorded a first victory during 2018 in the Cheshire Elite League when they saw off old foes Warrington Town in style last Saturday.
A 71-39 success at Winsford Lifestyle Centre is their biggest in the competition this season.
It serves too as ideal preparation for a meeting with Chester in the North West Championship League this weekend.
Sapphires sit top of the Division Two table after winning five of six matches to date.
Meanwhile their second team defied the odds to beat Saints thirds in the Warrington and District Winter League last week despite only having five players.
A 39-15 win left them fourth in the table before they took on Warrington Town’s fifths after the Guardian went to press last night, Wednesday.
