BARNTON Wanderers moved three points clear at the Crewe and District League summit after a last-minute goal on Saturday helped them squeeze past Club AZ.

They have now taken maximum points from their past five Premier Division fixtures.

Joel Hind, twice, Ethan O’Hagan and Kieran Wright were on target in a 4-3 win.

Winnington Avenue are still searching for a first league victory of the campaign after substitute Ryan Fallon condemned them to a 1-0 defeat against visiting Mary Dendy.

Witton Albion’s reserves put behind them the disappointment of a heavy defeat seven days earlier when they put five goals past Sandbach Town at Moss Farm.

Michael Higginson, Max Linaker, Tom Hassall, Nathan Glover-Smith and Ben Ferguson found the net.
