FOUR teams have confirmed their intention to resign from the Mid-Cheshire Bowling Association following a vote to keep matches 12-a-side.
Spinner & Bergamot, who finished seventh in Section One last season, are the highest-ranked of those that have pulled out.
Barnton Cricket Club C, Bunbury and Wharton Rec B are the others to decide their future before a deadline imposed by the league’s special council.
The members of that body are due to meet on Wednesday night to finalise a constitution for the 2018 season.
Bowlers rejected, by a narrow margin, a suggestion that games should be contested by teams made up of fewer players when they gathered for their annual meeting at Owley Wood earlier this month.
A notice of motion, tabled by Rudheath with support from Wharton Rec, requested a change to 10-a-side.
